Divine Skin to Distribute DS Laboratories Hair-Growth Brand Via 3,000 Premier Salons in North America
MIAMI BEACH, Fla., June 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cosmeceutical developer Divine Skin Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: DSKX). In its largest retail partnership to date, cosmeceutical developer Divine Skin Inc. (DSKX.OB) has announced a new agreement for its DS Laboratories brand to supply hair-growth products through Premier Salons, one of North America's largest chains, with about 3,000 locations, many set in prestigious department stores like Macy's. Divine Skin estimates the deal to be worth $300 per month per door or $10.8 million per year once the entire chain is supplied, which should take six months.
Earlier this week, Divine Skin announced a similar agreement with Fantastic Sams, a chain of roughly 1,300 salons, anticipated to be worth $4.6 million per year when fully implemented. At its current rate of growth, Divine Skin expects to add 10,000 salon outlets during this year.
To optimize revenue from the new salons, the company is establishing sales and education teams in California, Florida, New Jersey, and New York. Worldwide, Divine Skin distributes throughout the Americas (Canada, Mexico), Europe (United Kingdom, France, Germany, Russia, Turkey), and Japan.
The company's annual revenue was up 27 percent in 2009. Divine Skin Shares started trading in mid May 2010.
DS Laboratories' hair-growth products include Revita, a hair-growth-stimulating shampoo with antioxidant and anti-dihydrotestosterone properties plus hydrating molecules and structural amino acids, and Spectral.RS, a comprehensive minoxidil-free treatment with ingredients to counter stress, perifollicular fibrosis, hormonal disturbances, and vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
The most advanced treatments for male pattern baldness, Spectral.DNC and Spectral.DNC-L, compete head-to-head against sales-leader Rogaine, whose only active ingredient is minoxidil. By incorporating Aminexil, procyanidins B-2 and C-1, and other clinically demonstrated hair-growth agents in addition to 5% minoxidil, Spectral.DNC and Spectral.DNC-L perform effectively at the hairline, not just on the vertex of the scalp.
Another unique selling proposition of the high-performance Spectral line is the proprietary Nanosome, a tiny phospholipid microsphere that encapsulates active ingredients, penetrates the skin deeper, and releases the compounds slower for greater effectiveness. Competitive products use standard carriers that remain at the surface of the skin and dissipate quickly.
In addition to hair growth, DS Laboratories has developed Dandrene antidandruff shampoo, Nia radiant-color shampoo, Nia non-greasy conditioner, Trioxil anti-acne treatments, Hydroviton.CR exfoliating facial cleanser, Keramene body-hair suppressant, Viterol.A anti-aging solutions, Oligo.DX anti-cellulite gel, Vexum.SL double-chin reducer, and Nirena pH-balanced feminine cleanser.
