The featured speaker for this webcast is Erik Vollebregt, founding partner of Amsterdam-based Axon Lawyers. Mr. Vollebregt will provide legal insight into compliance and regulatory issues that surround stand-alone software for the medical device industry.
"You do not want to miss this important webcast on stand-alone software, an area recently impacted by the European Commission's MEDDEV 2.1/6 document, published in January 2012," stated Norbert Sparrow, Editor-in-Chief, EMDT. "Mr. Vollebregt will provide insight into how MEDDEV 2.1/6 helps manufacturers achieve compliance and where it may fall short."
Mr. Vollebregt will define what is―and what is not―stand-alone software from a medical perspective, and how that affects the regulatory pathway as well as provide perspectives on how the medical device directives may affect the regulation of clinical decision support software.
After his presentation, Mr. Vollebregt will participate in a live Q&A session, moderated by Mr. Sparrow. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and join in the discussion about the regulation and compliance of stand-alone software for the medical device industry.
The webcast will take place on Tuesday, April 24 at 14:00 London/15:00 Paris. There is a small registration fee to attend. The event will be archived for six months on the EMDT website and in the Qmed webcast archive.
