Mickey Mouse Greets Coaches and Players In Celebration of Upcoming Rose Bowl Game
ANAHEIM, Calif., Dec. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Now that Wisconsin and Oregon have won berths in the 2012 Rose Bowl Game presented by VIZIO in Pasadena, what are they going to do next? They're going to Disneyland!
The No. 10 BCS-ranked Wisconsin Badgers, champions of the Big Ten Conference, and No. 5 BCS- ranked Oregon Ducks, champions of the Pac-12 Conference, will make their first official appearances of the Rose Bowl Game week at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, in a ceremony at the holiday-themed Sleeping Beauty's Winter Castle at Disneyland.
Wisconsin Head Coach Bret Bielema, Oregon Head Coach Chip Kelly and members of both teams are scheduled to appear in the Castle ceremony with Disneyland Resort Vice President Jon Storbeck, Mickey Mouse and the Disneyland Band. Among the Wisconsin players will be running back (and 2011 Heisman Trophy Finalist) Montee Ball, quarterback Russell Wilson, running back Bradie Ewing, free safety Aaron Henry, and defensive tackle Patrick Butrym. Featured Oregon players in the ceremony will be tight end David Paulson, linebacker Josh Kaddu, defensive end Dion Jordan, and offensive linemen Mark Asper and Darrion Weems.
Following the ceremony, coaches and key players will be available for media interviews in front of the Castle, and then will experience popular Disneyland attractions such as the Matterhorn Bobsleds.
Disneyland has been associated with the Tournament of Roses since 1959 and has had the honor of playing host to many teams during that time. As Disneyland welcomes the 2012 Rose Bowl Game teams, Disney Parks are inviting families to "Let the Memories Begin" with a Disney Parks vacation and to share their memories by uploading photos and video at a special "Let the Memories Begin" online hub at www.DisneyParks.com/Memories. From a first meeting with a princess to a laugh-filled watery touchdown on Splash Mountain, Disney Parks is looking for videos and photos that capture those never-to-be-forgotten experiences. A selection of guest memories is being shared now at the online hub.
The 98th Rose Bowl Game presented by VIZIO, played in Pasadena on Monday, January 2, 2012, will mark the second consecutive and eighth appearance all-time in the Rose Bowl Game for the Badgers (11-2). The Ducks (also 11-2) will be making their sixth appearance in the Rose Bowl Game. January 2 will mark the fifth meeting all time between Wisconsin and Oregon; it will be the first time the two meet in a Rose Bowl Game.
