NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- DigitasLBi, a global marketing and technology company, has won a record-setting four 2015 Adweek Media Plan of the Year (MPOY) awards, the most wins by a single agency ever. The awards program honors the most creative, dynamic, and innovative media plans and executions.
DigitasLBi was recognized in the following four categories:
- Best Use of Insights: American Express "Everyday Genius" campaign
- Campaign Spending (Less Than $500,000): Taco Bell "Blackout"
- Best Use of Social (Less Than $500,000): Taco Bell "Blackout"
- Best Use of Mobile ($1 Million-$2 Million): Taco Bell Mobile Ordering App
"The Adweek Media Plan of the Year awards is the most rigorous media-specific industry awards competition. DigitasLBi's four wins -- more than any other single agency ever -- are a clear validation of our efforts to challenge the conventions of media and push for innovation on behalf of our clients," says Tony Weisman, CEO, DigitasLBi NA. Adds Global Chief Media Officer Baba Shetty, "With all the radical changes in media we need an industry-wide barometer for excellence more than ever. Adweek's Media Plan of the Year is that measure. We're humbled to be recognized with four wins. We have a great team with an unwavering commitment to bringing our clients the absolute best thinking and work in the industry."
Last year DigitasLBi was the MPOY winner in the $25 Million+ Category for its Motorola Moto X launch Campaign. The $25 Million+ Category is the largest campaign spend category that Adweek honors.
American Express Genius Campaign
DigitasLBi collaborated with the media, social, and content teams at American Express and AOL to create an innovative content marketing program to support the Amex EveryDay Credit Card. The campaign shows a new audience of moms that the brand can provide real service for their busy lives. The Everyday Genius web series puts life-hacks to the test and showcases the best ones, with content that includes videos on YouTube and Facebook, stills on Twitter and Pinterest, and GIFs on Tumblr. For American Express, the impact of Everyday Genius was immediate, quickly garnering views (and applause) across multiple social platforms.
Taco Bell "Blackout" and Mobile Ordering App
DigitasLBi created a disruptive digital campaign for Taco Bell's first mobile-ordering and payment app, the first for any QSR. The campaign included paid digital media and a social media blackout of all of the brand's channels including the reset/blackout of their Twitter feed, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, and homepage (tacobell.com). DigitasLBi also designed the mobile app and created the campaign's hashtag, #onlyintheapp.
DigitasLBi on a Winning Streak
The 2015 MPOY awards come on the heels of numerous honors for DigitasLBi. At this year's International Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, DigitasLBi took home five Cannes Lions, including Grand Prix, Silver, and Bronze in the Pharma category, as well as a Silver Lion in Media and a Bronze Lion in Cyber for the Taco Bell "Blackout" campaign. This year the agency was also awarded Gold and Silver Effies for the "Maytag Man" national campaign, as well as two One Show Silver Pencils for the Taco Bell Mobile App. Notable media recognitions include a Bronze Facebook Award in media strategy for the American Film Company's "Against the Sun" campaign, and the 4A's Media Partner Award for Motorola's Moto X Print campaign.
