Dickey's Barbecue Pit Celebrates Three Grand Openings
America's Largest Quick Serve Barbecue Expands with Three Grand Openings in Minnesota
DALLAS, April 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dickey's Barbecue Pit, marking its 70th anniversary this year, celebrates three grand openings this weekend in Minnesota.
The grand openings will take place at all three franchise locations in Eagan, Plymouth and Rogers from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, April 29.
The Dickey's in Eagan is located at 3090 Courthouse Lane, Suite 100.
The Plymouth event will be at 3195 Vicksburg Lane.
The Rogers Dickey's will be at 14165 James Road.
"I think it is incredible to have simultaneous grand openings in Minnesota," Franchisee of the Eagan location Tom Eggerud said. "It has all happened so fast. Several customers at the new locations have been to other Dickey's and are very happy we have brought one to their neighborhood."
While other businesses are closing shop, Dickey's is opening its doors coast to coast with 147 locations now open in 33 states, and nearly 60 in the pipeline, set to open throughout 2011.
"You cannot find better people to work with than those at Dickey's. They have been there hand in hand with us from the beginning," said Jason Stewart, the owner/operator of the Rogers location.
This outlook appears to be the sentiment of all Dickey's owner/operators.
"Our progress is surprising to a lot of folks, but it makes sense. People want to get out of the rat race and own their own business," Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. President Roland Dickey, Jr. said. "In turn, these new stores are employing lots of people who otherwise would still be looking for jobs."
Dickey said that investing a great deal of time and money with Dickey's in this unstable economy may seem reckless to outsiders, but his company has a "proven system that just works."
The company's annual growth rate over the past 2 years is averaging 35 percent, according to Dickey.
"Our Owner/Operators are making a wise investment with us. These people will be successful whether they are in Dallas, Alaska or California and the owners in Minnesota are perfect examples," Dickey said. "They took a leap of faith with us and it's become a win-win situation for everyone."
The corporate office located in Dallas, Texas receives applications for new stores constantly.
"We have low price point comfort food, which sells in a bad economy," Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. President Roland Dickey, Jr. said. "But, the difference between us and other fast-food or fast-casual concepts is that we don't compromise the quality of our meats and sides. We purchase top of the line products and cook them to perfection with family recipes that stand the test of time. Inexpensive and delicious, we are the best of all worlds."
In 2010, Eric Snover and his brother, Jon, opened Dickey's Barbecue Pits in Shakopee, MN. The family affair was well-received in the community, prompting this second venture in Plymouth.
Founded in 1941, Dickey's Barbecue Pit is a family owned- and operated- business that started with Dickey's grandfather, Travis Dickey, in Dallas, Texas.
The original location is still open for business.
Even today, Dickey's still slow smokes their signature pork and brisket overnight in every restaurant, just like the original.
Committed to exceptional quality at a great value, Dickey's Barbecue began their national growth with franchising in 1994 and is proud to be the largest quick-serve barbecue chain in the country today.
