Diageo Veteran Beth Davies Joins Porter Novelli New York As Executive Vice President, Consumer Practice Director
NEW YORK, April 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Global public relations leader Porter Novelli announced today that Beth Davies has joined the New York office as executive vice president, consumer practice director. She will be responsible for providing leadership and strategic guidance to practice clients in the consumer, food, drinks and nutrition industries.
"Beth joins Porter Novelli with world-class expertise as a brand marketer, having provided communications, organizational design and strategic consultation to multinational, start up and non-profit organizations over a 15-year career," said Darlan Monterisi, executive vice president and managing director of Porter Novelli New York, to whom Davies will report. "She thrives in a high-performance environment in which both clients and colleagues are challenged to build their brands and businesses to heights greater than imagined."
Davies joins Porter Novelli after running her own firm, Beth Davies Consultancy, for the past three years, representing clients in the beverage, alcohol, accessories & fashion and non-profit categories. Before that she spent eight years in progressive roles with premium drinks leader Diageo, most recently as global vice president of corporate relations for Diageo Guinness in Dublin, Ireland. In that role she led the global management of the Guinness brand reputation, media relations, as well as employee and stakeholder engagement, developing strategies and programs for implementation across North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. She also led PR for the brand's 250th anniversary program and developed the Arthur Guinness Fund, a multi-million dollar corporate social responsibility program. Davies also had been vice president of communications for Diageo Europe; head of corporate social responsibility for Diageo Ireland; and director of brand public relations for Diageo North America. Before Diageo, Davies was director of communications for the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States, and a senior account executive with Rogers & Cowan.
"I am so excited to join the Porter Novelli team, one that is dedicated to ensuring they make a meaningful and measurable impact on their clients' businesses," said Davies. "I'm looking forward to contributing to and learning from a group with an entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence."
Davies earned a B.A. in political science, with a concentration in marine affairs, from the University of Rhode Island.
