Detroit Pistons selects Yooba, the do-it-yourself iPad app maker as data capture solution

"Getting as much customer data as possible from all our events is a big objective," says Mike Donnay, Sr. Director Brand Networks at Palace Sports & Entertainment. "The app created with Yooba allows our data capture to be more accurate and streamlined. This means we can distribute more targeted lifestyle email campaigns, and more exclusive member-only content."
Prior to getting the Yooba app, the Palace hired promotional companies to walk around their events and collect names and addresses via handwritten data cards. Not only did this require excessive manpower, it also led to long delays in entering the data after each event – data that was frequently unreliable. "Using our Yooba app to capture data, we have tripled the number of leads at each event," says Donnay. "Sometimes we'll have a line of fans at each iPad just to add their contact information. It really is one awesome package."
Data collection takes place not only at The Palace, during Pistons games and concerts, but also at its outdoor music venues; DTE Energy Music Theatre and Meadowbrook Music Festival as well as at several local and regional community events. The customized app captures data in two main categories: Pistons Fan Club and the newly launched Entertainment Fan Club. Within the Pistons Fan Club, there are three sub-categories: Men, Women and Kids.
"The Yooba interfaces are really compelling, and you can customize the graphics and contents to relate to different events," continues Donnay. "And because iPad interfaces don't necessarily need to be connected to WIFI in order to capture leads, we're considering additional locations. We're always looking to capture as many eyeballs and leads within the arena," says Donnay. "We love it."
"Working with Palace Sports & Entertainment is a natural fit for Yooba," says Gunnar Larsson, US General Manager at Yooba. "Their mission is to capture data from as many customers as possible, and our goal is to help enterprises create professional, interactive apps that attract more people to the data collection touchpad. Plus Yooba allows them to revise and optimize their apps as The Palace learns more about how different customers connect with each data collection point."
