Student teams from the U.S. and around the world take home first place trophies during Global Finals 2016 Closing Ceremony
CHERRY HILL, N.J., June 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Destination Imagination (DI), a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching students the creative process through hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), arts and social entrepreneurship challenges, has officially released the results of the 2016 Global Finals tournament, including the top winners for all team and instant challenges. In total, 1,463 teams from more than 40 U.S. states and 20 countries took home first place trophies.
"These students have been working year round on their challenges, rehearsing and creating solutions," said Dr. Chuck Cadle, CEO of Destination Imagination, Inc. "It's a huge accomplishment for the more than 8,000 students who make it to the Global Finals, traveling from states as far as California and countries as far as China, to showcase their hard work. DI students never cease to amaze us with their quick thinking and innovative solutions. They consistently astound us with their adaptability, creativity and determination."
In addition to the instant challenges throughout the Global Finals, students participated in creative solution competitions within the scope of technical, scientific, structural, fine arts, improvisational and service learning.
