Destination DC Names Marketing and Tourism Veteran as New Vice President of Marketing and Communications
Greg Staley Brings More Than 15 Years of Professional Involvement in Travel Industry
WASHINGTON, June 24, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Destination DC president and CEO, Elliott Ferguson, has appointed Greg Staley as the new Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the official tourism and marketing office for the nation's capital. A seasoned travel marketing professional, Staley knows DC well, having served the U.S. Travel Association for several years, most recently as senior director of industry communications.

In an earlier role as Vice President of Marketing Communications for the Fort Worth Convention and Visitors Bureau, Staley composed the annual business and marketing plan that shaped the organization's focus and budget allocation for marketing programs. He was also instrumental in gaining publicity for the city in key markets domestically and abroad, guided campaigns to attract convention and leisure travelers, and created unique ways to collaborate with tourism partners through co-op programs featuring inbound press tours, outbound media missions and trade shows.
