America's Diner Officially Launches Education Initiative at the Multicultural Awards Show: "Tom Joyner Foundation -- Denny's First Generation College Scholarship Road to Success Fundraiser."
SPARTANBURG, S.C., Feb. 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Denny's is pleased to announce its support of TV One's 48th NAACP Image Awards Red Carpet Live on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 7.30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. CT. Premiering before the live telecast of the 48th NAACP Image Awards on TV One at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT, this special 90-minute program, hosted by Nischelle Turner (Entertainment Tonight) and Terrance J. (E! News) and sponsored by Denny's, captures the stars of television, film and music as they walk the red carpet to enter the two-hour, star-studded event hosted by Golden Globe-nominated actor Anthony Anderson.

At the 48th NAACP Image Awards Red Carpet Live show, Denny's will officially launch its new education initiative with longtime partner Tom Joyner – "Tom Joyner Foundation – Denny's First Generation College Scholarship Road to Success Fundraiser." The initiative is designed to create scholarships for first generation college students attending select Historically Black Colleges and Universities across the country. Beginning March 1, donations to the fundraiser can be made in person at a participating Denny's, via smartphone or online at www.dennysfirstgen.com. Students at select HBCU's will be able to apply for the Road to Success scholarships starting on Sept. 1.

For the fourth consecutive year, TV One is serving as the television home for the nation's oldest and largest civil rights organization's award show, the 48th NAACP Image Awards. The NAACP Image Awards, taking place at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California, celebrates the accomplishment of people of color in the fields of television, music, literature and film and also honors individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors. The multi-cultural show is one of the most respected events of its kind and is well attended by many of the top names in the entertainment industry.
