DDB's Matt Eastwood Named Chief Creative Officer of DDB New York
NEW YORK, July 29 /PRNewswire/ -- DDB New York announced today that it has appointed Matt Eastwood as Chief Creative Officer. Eastwood, who is currently the Head Creative of DDB Australia, will transition from his current role over the next few weeks, joining DDB New York full-time at the end of the summer.
"Matt has played a central role in some of the most awarded and innovative creative work in our industry," said Peter Hempel, President & CEO of DDB New York. "He is both an experienced and accomplished creative leader. His vision and deep digital expertise have helped many brands grow in tough circumstances by using creative ideas and media in remarkable new ways. After searching both within DDB and across the industry, I found there to be no better fit for this office."
In his capacity as National Creative Director of DDB Australia, Eastwood has spent the last four years overseeing all of DDB's creative output in the country. Within 18 months of Eastwood joining the agency in 2006, his guidance resulted in DDB winning the coveted Campaign Brief Agency of the Year title, and awards from the Cannes Lions, the One Show and D&AD, among many others. Also soon after Eastwood's arrival, DDB added AdNews' NSW National Agency of the Year and Australian Creative Hotshop titles to its growing list of accolades. In 2008 DDB led Australia at the Cannes Advertising Festival with more finalists in the Press and Outdoor categories than any other agency, and in 2009 DDB was ranked as the number one creative agency in Australia by industry publication Campaign Brief. In addition, DDB is the current AdNews Creative Network of the Year.
Throughout his career, Eastwood has worked with a prestigious range of clients including British Airways, Clorox, Danone, Energizer, McDonald's, the NFL, Xerox, Unilever, Volkswagen and Wrigley's.
"I'm thrilled to join a new part of the DDB family," said Eastwood. "Joining the team here is an exciting opportunity that already feels like a natural fit. When I met with some of the leaders in New York, I was impressed by how culturally similar we all actually are, and I'm gratified that they seem as eager as I am to start working together."
"This move is a great demonstration of the power of the DDB network," added Chuck Brymer, President and CEO of DDB Worldwide. "It's a testament to the depth of our talent that DDB New York found just what it was looking for within its extended family. Matt truly lives the DDB vision of using Social Creativity to create work that people want to participate in, play with and pass along, and I can't wait to put his fresh perspective to work here."
