DDB Presents...The Simpsons' Joel Cohen: Insights From Springfield at Spikes Asia 2011
HONG KONG, July 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- DDB Group Asia Pacific has announced it will be hosting The Simpsons' Joel Cohen at its popular "DDB Presents..." speaker series during Spikes Asia 2011, September 18 - 21, in Singapore.
Joel Cohen, writer and co-executive producer on The Simpsons, will present "The Business Tao of Homer: Lessons in creativity and innovation from The Simpsons." Armed with inspired anecdotes and clips, Joel promises to take us into the fabled writers' room at The Simpsons, drawing links between maintaining a hit show and running an advertising agency. He will ask, and then brilliantly answer, questions relevant to the industry. How do you manage group dynamics to get the best from your talent? How do you find, evaluate, implement, and even discard, new ideas and how do you chart a renewable path to innovation?
John Zeigler, Chairman and CEO of DDB Asia Pacific, Japan and India, said, "Named the twentieth century's greatest television series, The Simpsons has been the inspiration for many aspiring creatives. Joel, with his quick wit and deadpan style, will share with us the virtues of creativity, innovation, and comedy which made The Simpsons the longest running television series of all time."
"DDB Presents..." is the crowd-pulling event at Spikes Asia. In 2009 Sir Ken Robinson, the internationally recognized leader in the development of creativity and innovation, captured audiences with his thought-provoking insights on creative intelligence; and in 2010, Australia's best-selling story teller Bryce Courtenay gave an enthralling presentation on "Creativity and Innovation -- the Power of One," challenging the audience to dare to dream.
"At DDB, we believe creativity lies everywhere within our business and our lives. The 'DDB Presents...' series is our commitment to bringing greater depth and knowledge to our entire industry by drawing talented people, like Joel, to the Spikes stage, "Zeigler added.
