NEW YORK, Nov. 29, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Barneys New York, the luxury specialty retailer, announced today that Daniella Vitale will join the company effective December 1, 2010, as Chief Merchant and Executive Vice-President responsible for all of women's and Barneys.com operations. Ms. Vitale will be responsible for merchandising, business development and strategy in those areas and will report directly to Mark Lee, Chief Executive Officer of Barneys New York.

Ms. Vitale spent more than a decade with Gucci most recently serving as President of the Americas. Previously she was Vice President of Wholesale at Giorgio Armani and a Merchandise Manager at Salvatore Ferragamo.
The company also announced that Judy Collinson, Executive Vice-President/GMM Women's Merchandising, and Julie Gilhart, Senior Vice-President/Women's Fashion Director, have left the company to pursue other opportunities. Vitale has launched a search for a new women's Fashion Director.
Tom Kalenderian, Executive Vice-President/GMM Men's Merchandising, continues in his role and continues to report directly to Mark Lee.
