LONDON, February 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Experts from cut-e, the international assessment specialist, will present three sessions at the SIOP 2016 Conference (14-16 April, Anaheim, California).
The 31st annual conference of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology will highlight the latest developments in psychological research, theory and practice. The three-day event will include symposia, roundtables, panel discussions, 'poster' sessions, debates and master tutorials.
cut-e will present two papers in 50-minute 'poster' sessions. In these sessions, the speakers display key excerpts from their papers on large boards and they interact with the audience and discuss their research findings:
Dr Achim Preuss, Managing Director of cut-e, will present Detecting who is going to cause problems (Thursday 14 April, 12 noon-1.00pm in Ballroom A-E). The background to this paper is that employers typically screen job applicants for factors that predict job success. This session will explore how organizations can gain a more rounded picture of their candidates by predicting whether individuals will be susceptible to counterproductive work behavior, such as absence, fraud and recklessness.
Dr Katharina Lochner, cut-e's Research Director, will then present Detecting who is going to innovate (Saturday 16 April, 12 noon-1.00pm, Ballroom A-E). This session will explore how employers can now identify creative candidates in the selection process using a fully-automated scoring procedure.
Dr Lochner will also present in a symposium/forum session on the cross-cultural implications of using personality, integrity and emotional agility assessments (Friday 15 April, 10.30am-12 noon, Room 207 D). This session will examine the challenges of using self-report questionnaires, including the impact of socio-cultural factors such as a candidate's language ability, their cultural values and how they interpret concepts. Dr Lochner will highlight the implications of intercultural differences in integrity scores.
"We're very honored to have been selected to present three sessions at this prestigious conference," said Andreas Lohff, Director of cut-e. "This event is a chance for the world's industrial and organizational psychologists to meet and discuss current issues and emerging trends in the workplace. Our sessions will present new thinking around selecting the right candidates and recruiting internationally."
The SIOP 2016 Conference will be held at the Hilton Anaheim hotel and the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California on 14-16 April. Register online at http://www.siop.org/conferences/16con/.
