SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Culture Amp, the company that pioneered making people analytics accessible to all organizations, has launched a new Employee Effectiveness product, turning the oft-criticized practice of 360s into an opportunity for Learning and Development.
Rather than tie 360 feedback reviews to measuring an employee's productivity and compensation, the Culture Amp Employee Effectiveness product focuses on collecting feedback from both direct reports and managers to help individuals, teams and managers clearly identify areas for improvement.
While most other 360 reviews just replicate the traditional approach online, Culture Amp decided to redesign the process to optimize it as a digital product, focusing on recreating a real-life feedback conversation in a consistent way, introducing qualitative feedback that is forward-looking, and not reducing people to a score. It's also unique in that an individual can launch their own survey and be pro-active in their development.
Culture Amp's CEO Didier Elzinga said that Employee Effectiveness was created as a direct result of Culture Amp customers asking for it, and the overwhelming evidence that Learning and Development is a key driver of employee engagement, Culture Amp's other core analytics product.
"We looked at the performance review and 360 reviews as they exist in most companies, and felt that their premise was fundamentally flawed," Elzinga says. "We took the opportunity to approach it with a different objective, and based on a lot of research and our own domain expertise, created a product that allows individuals to get feedback from their colleagues in a way that puts learning and development first."
Culture Amp has been beta-testing the product with a number of marquee customers, including Etsy.
"Culture Amp helps our employees candidly get a sense of how they are doing from their peers and figure out how to improve within the context of our organization's values," said Morgan Evans, Learning and Development Program Manager, Etsy.
The new offering is an important addition to the stable of Culture Amp products which measure engagement at a company level, manager effectiveness, onboarding and exit, and inclusion.
"Our goal is to become a unified feedback system, from the organizational level through to the individual. This new product places us in a strong position to continue to deliver on that," Elzinga says.
