CSI Unveils Telemedicine Portable Telehealth System to Address Medicare Readmissions Penalty to over 2,600 Hospitals
RENO, Nev., June 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Privately owned Telehealth/Telemedicine and medical kiosk manufacturer, Computerized Screening, Inc. (CSI), has released its 9KP Fully Portable Telemedicine Health System to address the Federal Readmissions Penalty by Medinecare for over 2,600 hospitals. Medicare costs amount to $26 Billion per year, and of that total, officials estimate $17 Billion is spent on readmissions which could have been avoided.
CSI believes that by expanding "Continuum of Care" to a patient's home using the CSI 9KP Portable Telemedicine Health System, we can ensure compliance, continuity and quality care, while helping to reduce occurrence and cost of re-admission penalties.
"The CSI Readmissions Program offers the ability to reduce potentially avoidable occurrences by 12%, saving Medicare over $1 Billion annually. Low-income patients often have a harder time adhering to their post-hospital instructions, and research indicates this population does not have the financial resources in many cases to afford the cost of transportation to a doctor's office or hospital for follow up," says Charles Bluth, Founder, President and CEO of CSI.
CSI has been at the forefront of Telemedicine/Telehealth since 2000 when awarded its Patents and since that time has been instrumental in developing new Health Systems equipment and components to its product line as new technology emerges.
