Cryptsoft announces expansion of open standards security with HP
BRISBANE, Australia, Oct. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Cryptsoft, a respected supplier of encryption and key management technology, today announced additional deployments of its Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) toolkit within HP. This announcement comes as both companies enter the KMIP Conformance Program being offered by the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA), and administered by the Storage Security Industry Forum (SSIF). The program is designed to provide both the storage and security markets with assurance that implementations conform to the KMIP specification and are interoperable.
As an active contributor to the OASIS KMIP specification, including its pending third release (v1.2), Cryptsoft recognises the value of interoperable, enterprise-wide key management driven by the requirement for greater volumes of encrypted data across large and small enterprises. Cryptsoft has been working with fellow OASIS KMIP contributor HP for a number of years to support the evolution of this specification, delivering an initial KMIP technology license followed by further SDK licenses covering multiple products across HP. Bolstering its enterprise key management capabilities in tape libraries, disk arrays and key management appliances, Cryptsoft continues to work with HP to deliver cohesive, reliable and interoperable Enterprise Key Management (EKM) solutions to HP's customers.
"Working with HP has been a great experience and an opportunity to foster a symbiotic relationship with a key supplier in the data storage and security market. Together, Cryptsoft and HP have enabled the rapid deployment of enterprise key management for secure data encryption across a range of HP products," states Tony Cox, Business Development Manager at Cryptsoft. "We're now seeing KMIP deployed across entire data centres as enterprises realise the encryption is the easy part - it is the secure management of those encryption keys that is the true differentiator."
"Managing disparate or incompatible encryption tools can create hundreds of thousands of encryption keys, resulting in new security risks, poor performance and complex manageability," says Albert Biketi, General Manager, Atalla, Enterprise Security Products, HP. "HP has embraced KMIP technology across many product lines, including the robust, proven HP Enterprise Secure Key Manager (ESKM) to leverage the benefits of an open standard combined with the implementation expertise of partners like Cryptsoft to meet the needs of our customers."
