Crisis Management 1001 -- Who Survived, Who Thrived, and Who Self-Destructed Over the Past Year
Reputation Expert Davia Temin to Speak at the Chautauqua Institution on July 23, and at Grantmakers Forum on July 25, on How to Minimize Brand Damage During Crisis
NEW YORK, July 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- "The scandals and crises just keep on coming – and no organization, company, or individual is exempt," says Davia Temin, CEO of Temin and Company, a management consultancy focused on marketing strategy and reputation and crisis management.
"Scandals at Komen for the Cure, Yahoo!, Netflix, Barclays, Chick-fil-A, University of Virginia, and Penn State – to name just a few – have shown how leadership missteps can cause grievous damage to an organization's brand, bottom line, and mission. Worse, one rarely knows where the next crisis is coming from.
"That is why risk analysis, crisis preparedness, and crisis management are increasingly crucial leadership skills for every CEO, board director, and executive."
Speaking this week at the renowned Chautauqua Institution, and then at an annual Forum of Grantmakers, Ms. Temin will address the new rules of crisis planning and crisis management.
Today, Monday, July 23, she will speak at Chautauqua on "Crisis Management 1001 – Who Survived, Who Thrived, and Who Self-Destructed Over the Past Year." The speech is part of the Professional Women's Network lecture series at the Chautauqua Women's Club, the oldest women's club in the US, which has featured speakers such as Eleanor Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart, and Justice Sandra Day O'Connor. The program is moderated by its Chair Avivah Wittenberg-Cox, CEO of 20-first.com, a firm that specializes in gender balance in the corporate world.
On Wednesday, July 25, Ms. Temin will address the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers at their annual meeting in Pittsburgh, PA. Her topic will be "Oh No!: Crisis Management, Communications and Coming Back from the Brink."
Ms. Temin is founder and CEO of Temin and Company, which advises global companies, their boards, CEOs and leadership teams on reputation and crisis management, marketing and media strategy, leadership communications, and thought leadership.
