Covenant Interactive© uses simulator technology, previously only used in law enforcement training, which enables security officers to interact with a variety of real life scenarios that are industry-and site-specific.
Covenant's new topical training modules address Suspicious Behavior Recognition, which also satisfies MTSA and CFATS regulatory training requirements, and Managing Workplace Violence Incidents. The Suspicious Behavior scene takes place at a critical infrastructure facility, in which the security guard is presented with an individual possessing various tools that could compromise the facility or the company's intellectual property. These modules bridge Covenant's and the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Active Shooter Response Training recommendations.
The latest Covenant Interactive© scenarios add to Covenant's extensive catalogue of over 100 interactive training modules covering workplace violence, active shooter response, customer service skills, trespassing, attempted theft, bomb threat management, threat evaluation, terrorism, and many more.
CSS Vice President of Training & Safety, James E. McGinty, is the company's lead in the development and administration of the Covenant Interactive©training program. A 25-year veteran of the Philadelphia Police force, of which he served as Commander of the Bomb Disposal Unit, McGinty also performed key investigative roles in the first World Trade Center bombing, TWA Flight 800 tragedy, the Columbine School Shooting, and the Oklahoma City Bombing. McGinty is currently contracted by the DHS as an expert lecturer on Active Shooter preparedness and response.
