How Cove works: The level system offers 3 "shots at chemistry"

The businessman will be verified via his LinkedIn profile, while the more creative professionals, who might not have a LinkedIn account, will be verified via Instagram. After a male user has been verified and an "invite" has been sent to a female user, the woman being pursued then gains the control. The woman must accept the invite for a conversation to start, but she also has the power to decline the invite if she wishes. If an invite is declined or expires, the invite will be returned to the male user. Additionally, women may also filter their settings to only receive "Super Invites". If an invite is accepted, three levels of communication are opened, over the span of 10 days, to allow the pair the opportunity to find chemistry by progressing the depth of their conversation.

Level 1 TEXT: If a woman accepts an invite, text messages can be sent and received through the app. Once seven texts have been exchanged, both sides must agree within 48 hours to move the conversation to voice messages (Level 2). This will help keep the irrelevant back and forth banter to a minimum, giving both parties a chance to hear each other's voice, furthering a possible connection. If there is no agreement, the match disappears forever.

Level 2 VOICE: Once seven texts have been exchanged and both sides have agreed to move to Level 2, the voice message icon in the app will become available. Level 2 allows for three voice messages to be exchanged, while temporarily removing texting from the equation. After three voice messages are exchanged, it's time to level up once more. The connecting pair is given another 48 hours to move the conversation to video messages (Level 3).

Level 3 VIDEO: Once three voice messages have been exchanged and both sides have agreed to move to Level 3, the icon for the highest level, video messaging, will become available. This will give them a chance to get more acquainted and possibly comfortable enough to meet in person. Level 3 is complete after one video message is exchanged. If these three levels of communication are not completed within 10 days, the match disappears forever.
