Corrections on AJC, Erdogan Reporting
NEW YORK, July 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Errors in recent press coverage of a U.S. Jewish organization's award to Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan require immediate clarification and urgent correction.
Reports suggest that American Jewish Committee (AJC) gave an award to Prime Minister Erdogan a decade ago and is now seeking its return.
We never honored the Prime Minister at any time. It was another group, the American Jewish Congress, which honored him. American Jewish Congress, and its president, Jack Rosen, are not in any way connected with AJC (American Jewish Committee), despite any possible confusion in names.
Media should be mindful of the distinctions, and refer to AJC accurately, not erroneously.
