WASHINGTON, July 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Corporate Whistleblower Center says, "We are urging a physician or healthcare manager to call us anytime at 866-714-6466 if they can prove a hospital is improperly providing incentives to medical doctors for referring patients to a hospital. The incentives may range from paying a physician's rent, paying the doctor for consulting fees, or any other scheme to encourage the doctor to admit more patients to a hospital or healthcare facility. Recently a whistleblower received $9.2 million dollars for this exact type of information." http://CorporateWhistleblower.Com
About the recent whistleblower settlement: In June-2017 the US Department of Justice announced a Los Angeles based healthcare provider agreed to pay $42 million to settle allegations that they violated the False Claims Act by engaging in improper financial relationships with referring physicians. The settlement resolves allegations that the defendants submitted false claims to the Medicare and MediCal Programs for services rendered to patients referred by physicians with whom the defendants had improper financial relationships. These relationships took the form of (1) arrangements under which the defendants allegedly paid above-market rates to rent office space in physicians' offices, and (2) marketing arrangements that allegedly provided undue benefit to physicians' practices.
According to the Corporate Whistleblower Center, "Our invitation to medical doctors or to healthcare managers to call us about potential substantial whistleblower rewards is not only focused on hospitals providing kickbacks to physicians for increased admissions. We are also extremely interested about drug companies, medical device makers, radiology groups, orthopedic groups, blood testing labs, cardiology groups, rehab centers, or dialysis centers providing improper incentives to medical doctors in exchange for patients.
"Simply put, we are talking about kickbacks to medical doctors and if you have specific proof of these types of practices please call us anytime at 800-714-0303. Why sit on a potentially winning lotto ticket without ever knowing what it might have been worth?" http://CorporateWhistleblower.Com
Simple rules for a whistleblower from the Corporate Whistleblower: Do not go to the government first if you are a major whistleblower. The Corporate Whistleblower Center says, "Major whistleblowers frequently go to the government thinking they will help. It's a huge mistake. Do not go to the news media with your whistleblower information. Public revelation of a whistleblower's information could destroy any prospect for a reward. Do not try to force a company or individual to come clean Stark anti-kickback laws. Come to us first, tell us what type of information you have, and if we think it's sufficient, we will help find the right law firms to assist in advancing your information."
The Corporate Whistleblower Center wants to emphasize there are high quality whistleblowers in every state including California, New York, New Jersey, Florida, Texas, Massachusetts, Maryland, Rhode Island, Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Washington or Alaska.
The Corporate Whistleblower Center is the premier advocate for whistleblowers in the United States.
