Continental Automotive Named Presenting Sponsor of 2011 Motor Press Guild Track Day Event

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Motor Press Guild (MPG), the largest automotive media association in North America, today announced Continental Automotive as this year's presenting sponsor at its annual Track Day event on October 11 and 12 at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif. Track Day allows MPG journalist members to evaluate new vehicles from dozens of manufacturers in a variety of driving scenarios. Eligible journalists will also choose one outstanding vehicle to be named the Motor Press Guild "Vehicle of the Year." In addition, all members of the automotive industry are invited to view exhibits from MPG's wide range of automotive partners.

MPG's eligible journalist members will evaluate vehicles on the Auto Club Speedway's interior road course, as well as on the street. New for 2011 is the Dynamic Handling Course, a low-speed, tight-turning, high-braking circuit for testing handling and safety features. In addition, Continental Automotive will offer eight dynamic demonstrations that showcase its own innovations in active and passive safety and powertrain technologies, including ContiGuard Emergency Brake Assist and Emergency Steer Assist demonstrations.
