DETROIT, Jan. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Commonwealth//McCann, a division of McCann Worldgroup, today announced the appointment of Jonathan Disegi as Executive VP, Global Director of Strategy and Research, leading the agency's strategic operations in support of the General Motors Chevrolet account. Disegi previously served as Global Planning Director at JWT New York.
"As our agency continues to focus on propelling our client's brand forward, today's announcement strengthens our team's ability and commitment to helping Chevrolet achieve its goals as a top global brand," said Bill Kolb, Chairman and CEO of Commonwealth//McCann. "Jonathan will work closely with our global teams to create opportunities and ensure we are effectively connecting our client's brand to consumers in the most meaningful ways."
Disegi has held senior-level positions at agencies including Lowe New York and Publicis. He has extensive international brand-building knowledge and more than 17 years of experience in brand strategy, creative development and innovation. His strategic initiatives have been recognized with Effie awards for their marketplace effectiveness, including a Silver Effie for SAAB's "Born from Jets" campaign, which positioned the brand as a performance vehicle and led to its highest U.S. sales year in its history, and a Gold Effie for the launch of the Microsoft Bing "Decision Engine" campaign. His strategic leadership has also helped the agencies he worked for win new business across a wide range of marketers, including J&J, Tylenol, Nokia, Brand USA and Sharp.
Suzanne Powers, Global Chief Strategy Officer, McCann Worldgroup, said, "We are thrilled to welcome Jonathan to the team, and are excited by his ability to pull people, ideas, insights and creativity together across markets, disciplines and platforms for such an important brand as Chevrolet. Jonathan's passion and vision are perfectly matched by his strategic acumen and roll-up-his-sleeves approach to finding multi-discipline solutions."
Additionally, Iris Coldibelli and Charlie Quirk join the team as Global Strategy Directors, reporting to Disegi. Coldibelli has spent more than seven years in planning roles within McCann Worldgroup in Brazil, and has made significant contributions to enhance the Chevrolet brand strategy in South America. Prior to joining the agency, she worked for Ogilvy & Mather, and has led successful strategic projects for Nestlé, Advil, Microsoft and Nikon.
Quirk joins Commonwealth//McCann from POSSIBLE in Seattle, where he worked as Associate Director of Strategy and Planning on the Microsoft and AT&T accounts. He has experience in multiple markets, including Asia, Europe and the Americas, overseeing brand strategy for Nissan, Best Buy and Qatar Airways.
