Commission for Case Manager Certification announces Susan Dentzer, Alexandra Drane will keynote sessions for 2016 New World Symposium
Urgent need for case manager workforce development is impetus for Jan. 21-23, 2016 symposium
MOUNT LAUREL, N.J., June 25, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Susan Dentzer, senior policy advisor for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and PBS NewsHour online health analyst, will be the first among a stellar lineup of speakers announced today for the Commission for Case Manager Certification's premier New World Symposium, set for Jan. 21-23, 2016 in Las Vegas.
Rapidly changing payment systems, health IT applications and care delivery approaches contribute to a shifting landscape and an increasing workforce demand for knowledgeable, highly trained case managers. While more than 37,000 case managers have already demonstrated their qualifications through board certification with the Commission, further workforce development efforts are required to meet this need. New terrain and evolving practice will be explored from the point of view of case managers through five Symposium plenary sessions and a dozen general sessions aimed at researchers, academic leaders, policymakers and professional case managers.
