DETROIT, Feb. 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Olympia Entertainment is proud to announce Comerica Bank as the third Landmark Partner at the new arena. In addition to several other partnership elements, Comerica will be the sole sponsor of the much anticipated Players Club, a 250-person premium area located on the event level between the Red Wings locker room and the ice.
For Red Wings games, individuals that purchase Players Club season tickets will have an up close view of both the Red Wings and visiting team's players as they make their way out to the ice and back to their respective locker rooms. Red Wings players will literally walk through the center of the Players Club – the first experience of its kind in the market. In addition, for most concerts and events, Players Club tickets will be available for purchase by the general public.
The landmark partnership reflects Comerica Bank's continuing commitment to the city in which it was founded more than 165 years ago. Comerica Bank ranks first for the most banking centers in Detroit, with 23 locations, and is the largest bank employer in Detroit and Southeast Michigan.
"We're pleased to build upon our long-term relationship with the Ilitch organization and Olympia Entertainment through our landmark partnership," said Mike Ritchie, president of Comerica Bank-Michigan.
"We share the anticipation of fans, visitors and businesses for the opening of this transformational project. Like Comerica Park, the new arena will be another jewel in the city's revitalization and an important chapter in Detroit's great comeback story."
"We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Comerica Bank as a long-term partner," said Tom Wilson, president and CEO of Olympia Entertainment. "Comerica is a perfect example of a Detroit success story. Their commitment demonstrates a belief in the city and The District Detroit. We're particularly excited about their focus on the Players Club, the most anticipated premium space in the building. This area will be bringing truly unique experiences to fans and visitors, not just for hockey games, but for concerts and other events as well. We are very proud to have such a well-respected company associated with The Detroit Events Center."
In addition, the club will be utilized for concerts, family shows, sports championships such as College Hockey in the D and the Horizon League championships, the NCAA basketball championship and many other ticketed events at the new arena. Comerica Bank joins Meijer and St. Joseph's Mercy Healthcare as Landmark Partners at the new arena.
Comerica is planning to support the financial services needs of visitors to the new arena and residents of The District Detroit through a number of delivery channels. The bank is also the underwriter of the Series B bonds issued to assist in the financing of this important development.
Comerica also plans to continue its sponsorship of the Detroit Red Wings Smoke Detector Collection, which provides smoke detectors to low-income and elderly households throughout Michigan.
