Colgate's Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® Educational Program Partners with the Kids In Need Foundation to Help Students Smile Brighter for School Picture Day This Fall
Pledge to promote bright smiles for the chance to win 500 sets of toothbrushes and toothpaste for an elementary school in your community
NEW YORK, Oct. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Annual school picture day is an iconic tradition that captures a child's growth and development, and marks the promise of a healthy, successful school year. Yet many of our nation's children lack the tools they need to prevent dental-related illnesses and, in turn, stay healthy during the school year. That is why Colgate's Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® educational program and the Kids In Need Foundation have teamed up to help better equip families and educators with the resources they need to promote healthy habits and bright futures.
To kick off the Smile for Picture Day campaign, Colgate has donated 25,000 Colgate® Kids toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes to the Kids In Need Foundation. Now through November 17, 2017, elementary school teachers, educators, parents and community members across the country are encouraged to pledge their commitment to spread the importance of oral health by teaching kids healthy habits, and download Colgate's award winning Bright Smiles, Bright Futures™ oral health curriculum and. Every pledge submitted will be entered into a drawing for the chance for three elementary schools to win 500 Colgate® Kids toothpaste and toothbrush kits*.
"Picture day marks a new year of learning and special milestones that should be captured with a healthy smile," said Dr. Marsha Butler, Vice President of Global Oral Health and Professional Relations, a dentist who oversees the Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® global program. "By showing children how to care for their smiles, we can help them to feel good about themselves and the school year ahead."
And by sharing a picture day photo of your child or your students on social media with the hashtags #BrightSmilesBrightFutures #promo on or before November 17, Colgate will further donate $1 to the Kids In Need Foundation to help provide essential school supplies, including toothpaste and toothbrushes, to those who need it most**.
"We are honored to partner with Colgate to ensure that students are properly equipped with the tools they need," said Dave Smith, executive director, The Kids In Need Foundation. "Taking this pledge is a simple, yet effective way to make a difference for children in need."
