TORONTO, Aug. 1, 2013 /CNW/ - To celebrate the introduction of the ARCTM platform, a branded campaign microsite, CNW held a contest in June giving Canadian companies a chance to submit a proposal for their very own ARC. CNW would like to congratulate Craig Gives Back Tour for their winning submission, and also extend their gratitude to all those who entered the contest. The winning entry focused on the Craig Gives Back-2-Back Cross Canada Bicycle Tour campaign and demonstrated how the Craig Gives Back-2-Back team would utilize all the features that make the ARC engagement platform a critical element of any marketing plan.
"The Craig Gives Back Tour is a multimedia campaign that will be driven by its fluid and ever-changing, online content. Our primary objective for the ARC initiative is to provide a dynamic outlet for Canadians to become engaged with and participate in the Craig Gives Back Tour. In addition to providing a brand refresh, the ARC would offer one simple location for our audiences to access everything related to the Craig Gives Back Tour. One of the distinguishing features of the ARC is that content can be dynamically updated at any time to evolve with the campaign. Populated with videos, photos, daily blog posts and tour updates, the ARC will be utilized by reporters, potential donors, bloggers and all those who support the Craig Gives Back Tour from coast-to-coast," said Catherine Kieran, Manager of Communications at CNIB, as part of her contest submission.
At age 16, Craig reluctantly gave up all sports due to his waning vision. The bicycle tour is Craig Aucoin's way of fundraising and giving back to the three organizations, CNIB, Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind and YMCA Canada, that helped him turn his life around after the loss of his vision and resulting depression.
"Thanks to Canada Newswire for this incredible opportunity. This ARC will help [my cycling partner,] Lloyd, and me in a big way to access, reach and connect with Canadians from coast-to-coast to inspire them to lead healthy, active lives," said Aucoin. "Our new microsite will provide a dynamic outlet for individuals to become engaged with and participate in the Craig Gives Back Tour every step of the way - from our launch in St. John's, NL to our conclusion at the Terry Fox Memorial in Victoria, BC."
"We at CNW were very pleased to receive all the contest submissions," says Nicole Guillot, President of CNW. "It was another great opportunity for us to see how our clients viewed the products and services we provide and to gain insight into how those services fit within their marketing plans. The fact that the winning entry turned out to be in support of a great cause is a fantastic bonus. We look forward to working with the Craig Gives Back Tour to help drive the success of their campaign."
