Climashield® and Operation Gratitude Kick Off Annual Veterans Day Social Media Campaign To Thank Our Nation's Military Heroes
With a quick click or upload, fans and followers can help contribute to the $10,000 fundraising goal that aims to send over 650 care packages to our troops deployed in harm's way over the holidays
CLINTON, Tenn., Nov. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- For the third year, Climashield®, the insulation that has kept U.S. soldiers warm for over 30 years, has partnered with Operation Gratitude, the non-profit, volunteer-based organization that sends care packages to our military community, for a social media initiative that aims to raise funds that translate into care packages sent to the men and women serving our country.
Donating to the cause is simple. For every new like on Facebook and follow on Twitter or Instagram from Veterans Day through Thanksgiving, Climashield® will donate $5 to Operation Gratitude, up-to $10,000. Followers can also upload a photo showing their patriotism or support of our troops to Instagram with #ClimashieldCares for an additional $5 contribution. All funds raised will be used to help with costs for assembling and shipping packages to individually named U.S. Service Members.
"We pride ourselves in supplying the branches of the U.S. military with the highest quality insulation for protection in cold weather scenarios," said Matt Schrantz, chief operating officer of Climashield®. "Operation Gratitude also takes great care of our heroes by making them feel supported and appreciated. No package is anonymous - they know every recipient by name - and the great lengths they go to take care of our military is why we've chosen to be a partner in their effort."
"During the holidays, tens of thousands of Service Members will be separated from family and friends. These courageous men and women sacrifice their personal freedom during long deployments, and we want to remind them that what they do really matters," said Carolyn Blashek, founder of Operation Gratitude. "Thanks to partners like Climashield®, we are able to celebrate the historic milestone of sending our one millionth care package on December 7."
Each Operation Gratitude care package includes donated items valued at $75 - $100 and is personally addressed to a Service Member deployed in harm's way. Care packages contain food, hygiene products, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation sending good wishes of love and support.
