Clever and NWEA Announce Agreement to Offer Districts Auto-Rostering Services for MAP Growth Assessment
Partnership Allows Educators to Keep Rosters Current for their MAP Growth Assessments in Schools and Districts
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The edtech platform Clever and the not-for-profit assessment solutions provider NWEA announced today a renewed relationship to make it easier for school districts and states to adopt and manage MAP Growth assessments. Schools and districts that use both Clever and MAP Growth assessments can automatically sync student and teacher rosters in order to schedule assessment sessions. In addition to ensuring that rosters stay up-to-date, auto-rostering saves educators and administrators valuable time that would instead be spent manually adding student and teacher names into the assessment system.
One early adopter of the new solution shared her experience, Brenda McGee at Gilford School District, shared how the integration has benefitted her school. "This year, everyone's been able to just test. It has saved us hours and hours. Any time I meet a MAP Growth user, I say 'just wait until you try it with Clever.'"
Schools and apps connect on Clever's web-based platform to put next-generation software in the hands of students, helping teachers reclaim valuable learning time in classrooms. Over 60,000 K-12 schools in America and more than 300 applications use Clever to automate data integrations with online learning apps and simplify the login process for students and teachers.
"Working with Clever demonstrates our continued commitment to deliver quality options for making the rostering process easy and efficient in connection with our multiple measures," said Matt Chapman, CEO of NWEA. "Providing tools that support educators' use of MAP Growth is a top priority of NWEA."
The MAP Growth assessment is used by more than 10 million students and precisely measures student growth and proficiency over time, revealing what students know and are able to do, and what they're ready to learn. Educators can use MAP Growth data to track student growth throughout the school year and over multiple years.
"NWEA's assessment solutions are renowned in K-12," said Tyler Bosmeny, CEO of Clever. "Through this relationship, we're thrilled to be supporting NWEA and their thousands of school partners in order to save valuable implementation time."
About Clever
Clever was founded in 2012 by educators and technologists who knew that widely available educational apps could improve both teaching and learning, but that tools to deploy and secure the applications were simply unavailable. Today, half of K-12 schools in the U.S. trust Clever to secure their student data as they adopt learning apps in the classroom. In 2014, Clever won the 'Crystal Clear' award by the Digital Innovation Learning Awards. It is also the trusted provider of the American Federation of Teachers, who uses Clever to secure its own 'Share my Lesson' platform with its teacher members. Backed by Sequoia Capital, Lightspeed Partners, Peter Thiel's Founders Fund, and GSV Capital, Clever currently has 100 employees and is based in San Francisco, California.
