City of Mesa Selects Teo for Its E911 Solution, Enabling Real-Time Emergency Response
City to deploy innovative emergency response system to improve employees' safety
MUKILTEO, Wash., June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Teo (http://www.teotech.com), an innovative telecommunications company, today announced that the City of Mesa selected its leading Enhanced 911 (E911) Emergency Response Server System to improve the security and safety for 58 sites and more than 3,800 employees across the city.
As the third largest city in Arizona, Mesa was looking for a centrally managed communication system that would automate and streamline key processes. The City will be converting to a new PBX system that includes Teo's E911 alerting solution during the summer of 2010.
"The safety of the community and our employees are our highest priorities," said Jeremy Crandell, phone administrator for the City of Mesa. "With Teo's E911 solution, we will be able to provide immediate and pinpoint accuracy of an emergency event to our inside responders and management teams. Knowing the exact location inside our buildings will guarantee we won't be losing valuable time by searching office to office or even worse, not knowing which building the call originated from. The system provides a great service, it's affordable, and is easy to install and maintain. Every large business should have this capability."
Many organizations have internal response teams that need to have precise situational information when a 911 call occurs. With conventional PBX technology, it's likely that public E911 first responders will not get location information that identifies a secondary building, floor or office the call came from, only the street address of the primary business location. Without additional assistance, they may waste precious time searching for the caller.
Teo's E911 Emergency Response System provides more accurate locating information with detailed alerts, including maps, audio recordings and procedures for on-site personnel. The system can be added to any new or existing PBX installation. Features include 911 audio recording and monitoring, secure Emergency Location Identification Number (ELIN) management, group notification, and a variety of detailed alert screens that can be customized with maps, medical alerts, emergency contact numbers, and response procedures. When a 911 call occurs, messages are automatically sent to need-to-know personnel via screen pops, mobile text messages, and email.
"Teo's E911 solution addresses a major flaw in the communications infrastructure that many organizations have today," said Steve Hill, president of Teo. "By deploying our E911 solution, the City of Mesa is significantly enhancing the safety of its employees and visitors, ensuring a level of real-time emergency communications and information not previously achievable."
The E911 emergency notification systems are part of Teo's strong heritage and lineup of cutting-edge made-in-the-USA communications tools, including a series of ISDN and VoIP telephones, ISDN Network Terminations devices and ISDN Centrex Attendant Consoles.
