Chester Community Charter School Students Celebrate the Conclusion of Black History Month with Oratorical Competition Finals

CHESTER, Pa., Feb. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- At 9:15 a.m., on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, Chester Community Charter School (CCCS) will honor the culmination of Black History Month with an Oratorical Contest Finals Competition. The event will take place in the CCCS West Campus Gymnasium, 2730 Bethel Road, Chester, PA 19013.

The contest finals will showcase the oratorical abilities of CCCS's students in grades Kindergarten through 1^st. The contest consisted of in-class preliminaries and grade group semi-finals, with the top six classes competing in the all-school finals. Each class participating in the finals will recite group speeches, memoirs, poems, and spoken word that pay homage to the works of great African-American, writers, authors and orators. The judges will select the top three classes to win a first-, second- and third-place trophy.

Chester Community Charter School opened its doors on September 9, 1998, serving 97 students from its modest, four, meeting rooms, in the lobby of the Howard Johnson Hotel, in Chester, PA. Since that time, the school has steadily grown to include more than 4,200 students in 12 state-of-the-art-buildings, spanning four campuses.
