Founded in 1974 as an Alaska Native Village Corporation and headquartered in Anchorage, Chenega is a provider of professional services within the government and commercial contracting markets. HR InTouch consolidates all benefits-related data into a single online portal that enforces business rules at all levels, allowing Chenega to present employees with available plans based on their eligibility during enrollment or as a result of a life event change. The portal's intuitive design and personalized decision support tools promote self-service during enrollment, which can cut down on the time administrators spend fielding benefit-related inquiries. The BENEFITFOCUS® Plan Shopping App combined with the integration of claims data helps employees to factor in their individual healthcare usage and compare plans side-by-side to identify which option best suits their needs. HR InTouch includes access to more than 300 educational videos that explain complex healthcare and benefits terms in simple language to help employees better understand the plans available to them.
"Benefitfocus provides a comprehensive benefits solution that offers the scalability to help address the growing number of complexities associated with implementing the ACA throughout our variable hour workforce," said Peggy O'Keefe, Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Chenega. "From the intuitive enrollment workflow and tools to facilitate compliance to the endless possibilities of the communications portal, we believe HR InTouch will help our benefits team and employees navigate the changing healthcare and benefits environment, simplifying the overall member experience."
With messaging capabilities, HR InTouch allows employers to easily notify employees about changes to their healthcare coverage and share the Summary of Benefits & Coverage within the enrollment workflow to meet the ACA's information transparency requirements. Acknowledgement forms can be configured to accompany these communications to confirm employees receive the documents along with declination surveys to capture the reasons they may opt-out. The portal's advanced reporting tools give employers the ability to record this information, as well as enrollment data, for auditing purposes.
"Chenega has a business model centered on a corporate-wide strategy of hiring extraordinary people who consistently deliver exceptional, customer-centric service across various government and commercial projects," said Benefitfocus President and CEO, Shawn Jenkins. "At Benefitfocus, we design our portfolio of products and services to provide a solution that extends to all the benefits administration needs of our clients. We are excited for the opportunity to provide Chenega the flexibility to support a multitude of different benefit plan offerings."
Chenega Corporation is scheduled to go live on HR InTouch in time for their open enrollment in November.
