Cheerios, Walmart Team Up To Create "Moments of Good" For Shoppers In The New Year
Campaign aims to inject positivity into the world and help spread good to shoppers
MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Cheerios announced it is teaming up with Walmart to create "Moments of Good" for its shoppers in communities throughout the United States. From now through March, Cheerios and Walmart will work together to create special moments for shoppers, both in stores and within the surrounding communities. The companies will give back to consumers in big and small ways to spread good and inject positive energy into the world.
"Good doesn't always have to involve elaborate gestures, sometimes the smallest things can create a ripple effect of kindness," said General Mills senior customer manager, Randy Seeley. "That's why Cheerios is on a mission to create special moments of good for people, and this collaboration will allow us to do incredible things with the hope of spurring even more acts of good in the world."
The collaboration is part of Cheerios' ongoing "Good Goes Round" campaign. The collaboration with Walmart enables Cheerios to spread its mission of good even further and engage with communities at a local level in a variety of locations across the United States.
As part the effort to spread good, Cheerios and Walmart are also supporting several larger "Moments of Good" in addition to many smaller, more localized moments. The companies kicked off the efforts by helping a marching band from Louisburg, Kan. fund a trip to Pasadena, Calif. for the school's first-ever appearance in the annual Rose Parade. In November, Cheerios and Walmart presented the Louisburg High School marching band and dedicated band director John Cisetti (Mr. C) with a $25,000 check to go toward expenses for the trip. On New Year's Day, Cisetti and the Wildcat marching band appeared in the parade ahead of the 2018 Rose Bowl, fulfilling a longtime dream to perform in the iconic event.
"Helping the Louisburg marching band to realize a longtime dream is just the first of many amazing things our work with Cheerios will allow us to do," said Amanda Madrid, senior buying manager, Walmart U.S. "We're excited to show just how far a little bit of good can go."
Cheerios and Walmart will perform more acts of good through the end of March. To learn more about how Cheerios and Walmart are spreading good and to see every "Moment of Good", visit Walmart.com/CheeriosMoments.
