Change Healthcare to Present at HBS Health Industry Alumni Conference
BRENTWOOD, Tenn., Oct. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Change Healthcare, the leading cost transparency and engagement company, announced today that Clayton Nicholas, vice president of marketing and strategy, will present at the Harvard Business School (HBS) Health Industry Alumni Conference Oct. 18-19 in Cambridge, Mass.
Nicholas will lead two roundtable discussions on the topic of emerging trends and strategies that are driving the "consumerization" of healthcare at 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. ET on Oct. 19. The sessions will focus on trends driving consumerism in healthcare benefits, including the increasing focus on cost transparency, and the growth of consumer-directed defined-contribution health plans. Nicholas will also discuss the rise of private insurance exchanges and the relationship between consumers' financial responsibility and value-based consumer utilization.
"As healthcare costs continue to rise, employers and health plans are seeking out tools that ease the heavy financial burden and better enable consumers to take an active role in their healthcare decisions," Nicholas said. "For organizations to succeed in rolling out new plan options, it is essential to provide consumers with the tools they need to effectively shop for their health care, and then tie those services closely to consumer education and engagement strategies."
Nicholas is a graduate of the Harvard Business School's master of business administration program.
