About the Author

Richard Konicek-Moran has been a science educator for more than 50 years and is currently a professor emeritus at the University of Massachusetts, where he teaches courses in science education. He has also worked as a researcher, middle school science teacher, and K–12 science coordinator, and he has volunteered at the Everglades National Park as a nature interpreter and research assistant. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in biology from the University of Illinois and his doctorate in science education from Columbia University.
