Challenge Your Student Investigators Through 'Even More Everyday Science Mysteries'
ARLINGTON, Va., April 8 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Bestselling author Richard Konicek-Moran introduces 15 new mysteries in this third volume of his award-winning series. Even More Everyday Science Mysteries uses stories without endings to encourage students to ask questions, form hypotheses, and take ownership of their learning through investigation and inquiry. This hand-on approach proves to be the perfect vehicle for K–8 teachers, homeschooling parents, and informal educators to introduce concepts such as evaporation, global warming, air pressure, erosion, germination, and life cycles.
The convenience of lesson starters like "everyday mysteries" allow teachers to guide investigations and engage students in discussion of results and conclusions. Each mystery can be photocopied and distributed for students to read, discuss, and solve, deepening their "emotional connection" to the scientific world around them. The book is organized by the science concepts explored, and each chapter includes strategies for targeting specific grade levels and a list of corresponding standards.
"These stories are bound to reveal the wonderful ideas all students have, give them the confidence to explore their own thinking, and provide opportunities for them to 'do' science rather than have science 'done' to them."
—Page Keeley, NSTA President 2008-09
