Centerplate Turns Up the Heat on Off-Slope Service at Whiteface
Hot new menus, designer merchandise, and slopeside services offer a warm welcome to cold weather fans at premier ski mountain.
STAMFORD, Conn., Dec. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Centerplate, the largest hospitality partner to North America's premier sports stadiums, convention centers and entertainment venues, including 16 marquee ski resorts, announced enhancements to the visitor experience at Whiteface Mountain in Wilmington, NY for the 2010-2011 ski season. A series of new menu concepts, service improvements and special fan promotions have been designed to attract and reward visitors with a custom experience tailored to guests' individual tastes.
Menu Highlights
A number of new high quality dishes using local ingredients gives winter sports enthusiasts several new food and beverage items to enjoy this season.
A saute station, where chefs prepare made-to-order dishes of fresh pasta with a variety of fresh ingredients and sauces, gives skiers and boarders a warm and hearty respite from activity on the mountain.
Diners looking for an upscale treat in a casual setting can treat themselves to a mountainside lunch at the J.Lohr Vineyards Wine Bar including specialties such as a braised duck quesadilla, smoked trout, rustic stew with parsnips and turnips, and lump crab cakes.
The new items join returning classic and signature dishes, including fan favorites Homemade Whiteface Chili and New England Clam Chowder.
Fan Appreciation and Special Promotions
This season Whiteface will stock some of the hottest ski merchandise of the season. On every downhiller's list: the e-touch gloves, a new invention from North Face allowing usage of iPhones and iPods with the glove on, convenient for enjoying tunes on the way up—or down—the mountain.
Guest Services Enhancements
Complementing its new culinary offerings, Centerplate has also initiated a series of guest service enhancements to appeal to those off the slopes. A digital jukebox, a pool table and dart board have all been added to the Cloudspin Lounge, as well as "Chill Chambers" with recyclable aluminum beer bottles and Mood Mix'r drink cups that change colors in different temperatures.
For guests who don't want to take their skis off, Centerplate introduces a Grab-and-Go station by the Cloudsplitter Gondola offering breakfast items and assorted drinks and snacks.
To reward and maintain the high level of customer service for guests at the resort, Centerplate has introduced an Employee-of-the-Moment program for the Holidays which offers dedicated Centerplate team members a gift card and recognition. Launched to motivate employees and recognize those who strive to create craveable experiences and raveable results, the new program will be in place this December.
As 2010 draws to a close, the year has proven to be one of the strongest in new business development and client retention in its eighty-year history. Centerplate's 2010-2011 ski season updates follow other recent company news, including the addition of several new client-partners such as The Woodruff Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, and the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville.
