Centerplate Kicks Off Hospitality Services to Super Bowl XLIV at South Florida's Sun Life Stadium
Preparations Underway to Supercharge the Fan Experience with Florida-Flavored Menus
STAMFORD, Conn., Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Centerplate, North America's leading hospitality provider in North American sports & entertainment with 250 premier venue partnerships, announced today its role as the food service partner for Super Bowl XLIV on February 7th, 2010 at South Florida's Sun Life Stadium.
Centerplate -- also hospitality provider to the home fields for both Super Bowl contenders, the Saints' Superdome and the Colts' Lucas Oil Field -- will host over 70,000 fans this Sunday, offering specialty food and beverage menus reflecting South Florida's culinary styles including items from Maggie's Empanadas, the original Everglades BBQ and Mema's Italian Ice. In keeping with Centerplate's commitment to fan value while offering diverse menu choices, prices for the 45-item general concessions menu will remain flat with last year's Super Bowl game.
Sun Life Stadium's Executive Chef, Orlando Morales, has prepared additional specialty menu items exclusive to the Super Bowl including the 18" Superball Meatball Sub, 18" Miami Cuban ham and cheese sub and Superbowl Paella Station offering a variety of traditional paella flavors. In preparation for the super-sized event, Chef Morales has also amplified ingredient quantities, expecting to sell nearly one ton of Everglades BBQ's Citrus Chipotle, Carolina Gold and Smoky Original Pulled Pork Sandwiches over the course of the game.
"Centerplate has offered us invaluable support in executing preparations for our 10th Super Bowl," said Mike Dee, CEO of the Miami Dolphins and Sun Life Stadium. "Their diverse culinary expertise and great guest service will help keep all 70,000 football fans happy as they watch the action on the field."
Centerplate's team of top executives, service professionals and culinary leaders will be on site to support the operations. Additionally, Centerplate interviewed, hired and credentialed through the National Security Agency over 3,700 employees and local non-profit volunteers for the Super Bowl, a nearly 40 percent increase over the food and beverage staffing needs at regular season games.
"We are proud to serve as hospitality provider to one of this country's defining athletic events," said Des Hague, President and CEO of Centerplate. "This is a great opportunity to serve our new venue partners with the level of committed service and extraordinary guest experiences people have come to expect from Centerplate."
