LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Centerplate, the largest hospitality partner to North America's premier sports stadiums, convention centers and entertainment venues, announced today a series of new menu concepts, facility improvements and service enhancements for the Louisville Bats 2011 Season at Louisville Slugger Field in Louisville, Kentucky.
"We are proud to partner with the Bats to serve their fans throughout the season," said Thomas Tazbaz, Centerplate's Vice President with executive responsibility for the park. "We are eager to unveil our engaging new concepts tailored specifically for these great fans."
Menu Highlights
Fans will have several new menu items to enjoy this season. Centerplate's chefs have created new takes on ballpark favorites like the Beer Battered Dog, a homemade Bass Ale beer battered dog topped with Green Chili cheese sauce.
Another classic fan favorite receiving the Centerplate touch is the Bloody Mary. This season, Centerplate will be offering the 'Build-Your-Own Bloody Mary' served in a souvenir mason jar mug.
These items will be joined by additional signature dishes, new for this season:
The Kentucky Hot Brown Dog: a grilled Turkey dog with hickory smoked bacon, and topped with mornay sauce and diced tomatoes.
Fruit Smoothies: fresh-made mango and strawberry smoothies will be served throughout the park
Wings Around the World: hand shaken and prepared to order with an extensive assortment of sauces, including Traditional Buffalo, Golden Barbecue, Sweet Red Chili, Cajun and Sweet Teriyaki.
Fan Appreciation and Special Promotions
Centerplate will be offering fan appreciation promotions like the "Bottomless Soda," a special offer consisting of a souvenir cup that provides for free refills and the new 'Popcorn Helmet' featuring 85 ounces of freshly popped popcorn.
Guest Services Enhancements
In addition to these new menu offerings and promotions, new digital menu boards will be installed in most concession stands throughout the stadium. The system, designed and supported by Ping HD a leading digital communications firm, will display full motion graphics, support dynamic menus, and feature fan promotions and other in-game communications that will enhance the gameday experience.
A newly constructed picnic area located on the right field patio deck also adds a new dimension to enjoy the game, featuring an All-You-Can-Eat section. The Team Store is also getting a Centerplate make-over with new fixtures and displays, which will present an updated line-up of apparel and souvenirs including a new line of Bats clothing exclusive to the stadium.
To complement its culinary and design additions, the company has also initiated a series of enhancements to its service training and experience assurance initiatives. Centerplate's training program, which has been completely revamped and re-launched for this season as Centerplate University, is based on a series of training sessions that reinforces the principles and behaviors of gracious guest service for a better fan experience.
