Centerplate Bolsters Business Development Team, Names Steve Cahoon Senior Vice President
STAMFORD, Conn., June 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Centerplate, event hospitality partner in over 300 prominent entertainment, sports and convention venues across North America and the United Kingdom is proud to announce the appointment of Steve Cahoon the role of Senior Vice President of Business Development. In his new role, Cahoon will draw upon his 30+ years of operational hospitality experience to develop winning strategies for new business opportunities for both Centerplate and its international roster of clients.

In a career spanning four decades, Cahoon has developed and delivered hospitality programs at premier public facilities throughout the USA and Asia. In recent years, he was instrumental in the design and development of Centerplate's operation at the site of Super Bowl XLVI at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Following Hurricane Katrina, Cahoon was part of the leadership team that rebuilt and reopened the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, which hosted Super Bowl XLVII.

Cahoon's experience in Sports and Entertainment venues also includes operating major arenas, football stadiums, baseball parks, university sports, indoor and outdoor music amphitheaters, amusement parks, racing facilities and convention center operations in New York, Kentucky, Florida, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Illinois. During his six years in Asia, Cahoon served as Vice President of Fine Host Asia. After re-engineering the restaurants, food courts and catering operations at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre (QSNCC) in Bangkok, Cahoon also helped organize hospitality services for the 1995 South East Asian Games in Chiang Mai, Thailand, the 1996 Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) at the QSNCC and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development UNCTAD X.
In February of 2012, Steve was awarded the Centerplate's President's Award, given annually to the individual who best exemplifies the company's values while working diligently to deliver on Centerplate's brand promise of "Craveable Experiences. Raveable Results." His new responsibilities come at a key time for Centerplate.
