"The power of earning a paycheck lies in a person's ability to achieve independence, to become self-sufficient, and to support themselves and their families," said Jerri Rosen, founder and CEO of Working Wardrobes. "By telling their stories, these influential people serve as inspiration to our clients – to help them understand there is a bright future beyond the difficult challenges they've faced and they can achieve whatever they set their minds to."
Working Wardrobes celebrates its 25th Anniversary this year, having served over 80,000 clients since its inception. The Power of a Paycheck Campaign is being launched in conjunction with a new training program entitled the Workplace Excellence Series which enhances upward mobility in a person's career path – from part time to full time work, or from low-wage jobs to higher-wage jobs that maintain a normal standard of living. The campaign encourages donors to set aside a certain dollar amount from their paychecks each month to help unemployed Working Wardrobes clients find jobs, and under-employed clients earn better livings.
Working Wardrobes is asking the public to share their first paycheck stories also by emailing the story and photo, or video, to [email protected]. They want to hear it…and share it!
