CCG Announces Webinar on the Crisis of Confidence in Chinese Equities Market and Perspectives To Build Confidence
NEW YORK and BEIJING, Sept. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- CCG Investor Relations ("CCG"), a leading US-headquartered global investor relations and strategic communications agency, today announced an upcoming webinar that will present both the challenges and potential solutions for Chinese companies seeking to attract interest from overseas investors in the current market environment. The webinar will present perspectives from leading buy-side and sell-side investment professionals and will summarize the results of a recent survey of institutional investors performed by CCG on "What the Buy-Side Are Saying about Investing in China".
The webinar will take place on Tuesday, October 11th at 9 a.m. China time (Monday, October 10th at 9 p.m. Eastern time) and is designed for CEOs, CFOs, and IR officers of Chinese companies listed overseas, as well as interested investors and advisors to Chinese public companies.
The event will be moderated by Neil Stewart, editor-at-large of IR Magazine and will include a summary of the survey results by CCG's President, Crocker Coulson.
Participating in the discussion will be:
- Garrett D'Alessandro, CEO and CIO, Rochdale Investment Management
- Alexander Potter, Senior Research Analyst, Piper Jaffray
- Dan David, Founder, Geoinvesting
"Profound concerns regarding corporate governance, financial reporting and business ethics have shaken the confidence of institutions investing in Chinese equities. While the U.S.-listed China sector has seen a string of spectacular frauds in the past year, the cloud of suspicion has impacted the valuations and sponsorship for many high quality issuers and effectively closed the window to new IPOs from China since the second quarter of 2011," said Crocker Coulson, President of CCG Investor Relations. "Our survey suggested that only 2% of fund managers describe themselves as 'very satisfied' with the disclosure and governance practices of the Chinese companies in their portfolios. We believe that it is time for a frank and open dialogue on the concrete steps that are required to restore a healthy level of confidence in one of the most exciting investing regions in the world."
"I look forward to hearing the views of our esteemed panel on the issues that most concern them when investing in China, the due diligence methods they employ to uncover value, and the steps management can take to show their commitment to best practices in governance and investor communications," said Neil Stewart, editor-at-large of IR Magazine.
