New Women's Division, S-Series Integrates with High End Fashion Houses For Seasonal Presentation
DOVER, N.J., Feb. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Casio America, Inc. proudly celebrated the launch of its second collection with integrated designer presentations at Fall/Winter 2015 New York Fashion Week. The G-SHOCK S Series collaborated once again with Womenswear Designers Nicholas K. and Timo Weiland, taking the partnerships with each designer to the next level through custom integrations, and introduced a new seasonal partnership with up and coming designer, Harbison.
The S Series line uplifts the G-SHOCK brand into the contemporary fashion space for the female consumer who loves G-Shock watches, but feels they are too large for her wrist. G-SHOCK remains to offer brilliant technical innovations through S-Series but now extends itself into presenting their watches as a sporty fashion accessory.
Held at Lincoln Center on Thursday, February 12th, the Nicholas K. runway show kicked off the first integrated show for the FW15 NYFW season with G-SHOCK S Series. This season Nicholas K. created custom S Series looks, featuring the S Series Tribal Rose printed on sweeping floor length gowns in oxblood with dip dyed black hems with custom made S Series pocket watches hanging from the waist.
The Timo Weiland runway show at Pier 59 also on Thursday, February 12th, was the second presentation for the FW15 season. G-SHOCK S Series partnered with the brand once again, taking the partnership one step further, featuring a selection of Gold-tone S Series watches fused into the sleeves custom made jackets.
The Harbison presentation at The Standard Highline on February 17th featured S Series for the first time. The FGI Rising Star nominee featured a selection of Tribal Rose watches incorporated into the season's looks.
The S Series is available at Nordstrom's, Macy's and select department stores, as well as the G-SHOCK Soho NYC store, and online. Prices range from $99 to $150.
About G-SHOCK
CASIO's shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch is synonymous with toughness, born from the developer Mr. Ibe's dream of 'creating a watch that never breaks'. Over 200 handmade samples were created and tested to destruction until finally in 1983 the first, now iconic G-SHOCK hit the streets of Japan and began to establish itself as 'the toughest watch of all time'. Each watch encompasses the 7 elements; electric shock resistance, gravity resistance, low temperature resistance, vibration resistance, water resistance, shock resistance and toughness. The watch is packed with Casio innovations and technologies to prevent it from suffering direct shock; this includes internal components protected with urethane and suspended timekeeping modules inside the watch structure. Since its launch, G-SHOCK has continued to evolve, continuing to support on Mr. Ibe's mantra "never, never give up."
