NASHVILLE, Tenn., Dec. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Captain D's, the nation's leading fast casual seafood restaurant, announced today the opening of its newest franchised location in Stephenville, Texas, marking its first location in the city and 16th overall in the state. Located at 3015 W. Washington St., the new restaurant is the first of three new openings that Captain D's has slated for this month, reflecting the surge of franchise development the brand has consistently experienced throughout 2018, expanding its presence in key markets including Texas, Missouri and Mississippi.
The new Stephenville restaurant is owned and operated by first-time Captain D's franchisee Mohammad "Jimmy" K. Jamshed of Alaskan Ventures LLC, and marks the first of three restaurants he's currently developing in Texas. Jamshed is a franchising industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience in multi-unit executive management, owning and operating several convenience stores and gas stations as well as five Burger King restaurants.
"Captain D's is a favorite among guests and franchisees alike because of its commitment to excellence in everything it does. Since signing my first agreement with the brand last year, I've been blown away by the level of support provided by their highly experienced corporate team, which motivated me to sign on for another restaurant while my existing agreement was still in progress," said Jimmy Jamshed. "I'm thrilled to be part of the brand's growth in Texas and to bring the first Captain D's to the Stephenville community."
Captain D's has continued to identify Texas as a prime market for expansion. In addition to the opening in Stephenville, the brand opened a new restaurant in Plano earlier this year and currently has several locations in development throughout the state, with a new restaurant slated to open in Bonham in Q2 2019. This ongoing growth in Texas further signifies the outstanding success the brand has achieved over the past several years, which has fueled a surge in franchise and corporate development. Throughout the past year, the company has opened more than 10 new locations and inked numerous franchise development agreements to open new restaurants in states like Florida, North Carolina, Illinois, Michigan and Oklahoma.
Coupled with its ongoing menu innovation, Captain D's credits its new restaurant beach design with contributing to the brand's ongoing strong performance. To date, nearly 80 percent of all restaurants have been reimaged to the brand's new vibrant, coastal design. With these efforts, Captain D's has remained true to what it does best — serving high-quality seafood with warm hospitality at an affordable price in a welcoming atmosphere.
With more than 530 restaurants in 22 states, Captain D's is the fast-casual seafood leader and number one seafood franchise in America ranked by average unit volume. The company is currently seeking single- and multi-unit operators to join in the brand's rapid expansion.
