CMI, in partnership with Fixation Marketing, launched the business-to-business sustainability microsite, Cans: The Sustainable & Smart Solution (cancentral.com/sustainability), in the summer of 2013. The site promotes the benefits of metal cans as the best packaging choice for food and beverages. The microsite, created as a single-page responsive design, focuses on the can's sustainability and the compelling reasons for packaging professionals, brand owners, retailers and consumers to choose cans.
The dimensional direct mail piece, sent to 25,000 food and beverage packaging professionals, featured a custom can illustration and summarized the key content found on the microsite, with a call-to-action to visit the site to learn more. The microsite and direct mail piece were part of an industry engagement initiative that included earned and paid media, event sponsorships and speaking opportunities.
"We are proud to be recognized for this valuable educational resource that is critical to showcase the innovations and sustainable packaging advances in our industry," said CMI President Robert Budway.
The Association TRENDS All-Media Contest is an annual competition exclusively for associations, recognizing the most creative and effective communications vehicles developed in the industry over the previous year. The 2013 competition included a record 467 entries in 22 categories of association communications.
CMI and Fixation Marketing will be honored at the 25th Annual Salute to Association Excellence on February 20, 2014, at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C. The awards will be featured in the January 2014 issue of TRENDS and online.
