Calling All Hot Dog Lovers! Witness History As Kayem Crowns Winner Of "Create the Next Fenway Frank" At Free National Hot Dog Day Grilling Event.
To celebrate National Hot Dog Day, Kayem and Shane Victorino of the Boston Red Sox will announce the "lucky dog" who will have their hot dog creation sold at Fenway Park
CHELSEA, Mass., July 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- National Hot Dog Day is July 23 and Kayem Foods, the official Frank and Sausage of the Boston Red Sox and Fenway Park, is celebrating with Red Sox player Shane Victorino by announcing the winner of the "Create The Next Fenway Frank" contest at a free sampling event at Boston Harbor Cruises' The Landing at Long Wharf. Peter Leibowitz and Rybecca Abott, the finalists of Kayem's "Create The Next Fenway Frank" contest will sample their hot dog creations to the public during the special free lunchtime celebration and Shane Victorino will announce the grand prize winner. The winning recipe will be sold for the remainder of the season at Fenway Park, starting that night at the Red Sox game versus the Tampa Bay Rays, and will also receive a $1,000 Cash Gift Card and wicked bragging rights. The runner up will receive a $500 Cash Gift Card.
Peter Leibowitz of Hudson, MA and Rybecca Abott of Walcott, CT won over the crowds with their delicious dogs. Leibowitz combined some of his favorite ingredients to create his "Big Puppi" hot dog, named after the famous Red Sox Player. Covered with Jalapeno Ketchup, yellow mustard, sauteed onions, melted cheddar cheese and potato sticks, "Big Puppi" has it all. Abott's "Becky's Boston Chili Dog" is a regular favorite in her house and features her homemade chili topped with shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream.
Kayem's National Hot Dog Day celebration will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a free Kayem frank, enter raffles for a chance to win Kayem and Boston Harbor Cruises prizes, and have their photo taken with Red Sox Shane Victorino and Wally the Green Monster. Kevin Karlson of 100.7 WZLX will provide music and the WZLX and Canobie Lake street team will provide fun giveaways to guests all afternoon.
