Calibrus, Inc. Announces Filing of Live Event Social Networking Provisional Patent.
Smartphone application brings social networking to live events and performances.
TEMPE, Ariz., June 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Calibrus, Inc., located in Tempe, Arizona, a development company in Social Online Networking and Mobile Applications and leader in Third Party Verification Services (TPV) announced today the filing of their Provisional Patent Application for Live Event Social Networking, Application Serial #61/353010. Building on the test bed technologies developed for the JabberMonkey platform, this provisional patent allows for dynamic new utilization of social network applications in a mobile 'smart phone' environment.
Designed for use within large following group environments including sports, both pro and college, racing and any live performance venue, such as major music concerts, our mobile application keeps fans informed and gives them the ability to inform others, a true live interaction. Utilizing fan interest pre, post and most importantly during an event, the highest level of User Generated Content (UGC) flows between participants, the application, and the site, building extremely relevant content for the team, event or performances' web presence. With utilization of a 'reward' system for participants who check-in, post comments or upload content that is relevant, the first truly symbiotic environment is created for all parties involved.
With the integration of data from embedded GPS in the majority of smart phones, the primary uses of the application by participants, while attending live events, will be to share their experiences with friends, relate to the live performance and participate in event sponsor promotions all in a real time environment. Additional benefits include the ability to 'Check-in' at an event. Application users will be able to 'see' and interact with other 'Checked-in' users and friends while receiving exclusive content, feedback and interaction with the performers, team members, and event sponsors.
As the platform outlined in this provisional patent stands, the ability to produce targeted and relevant advertising opportunities exists and will be integrated to produce both branding and advertising for sponsors, teams, bands etc., all in an environment which allows full user control of their personal data and its uses. With highly targeted participant information and the ability to deliver rich content in the form of audio and video to the phone, the highest revenue ad units in a Cost Per Click (CPC), skinning, and pre/post roll scenarios, revenue capture is maximized. The existing ad serving industries have been able to adjust ad delivery as user content evolves in a live environment, thus delivering in the environment with the most optimized user experience combined with an advantageous revenue production capability for Calibrus.
Tom Harker, CTO at Calibrus stated on the application, "We have developed this application with exhaustive input from industry leaders in event planning and team sports management and expect comprehensive integration in short order. Industry reception and advertiser interest in the platform has been balanced with the user experience to provide unique interactions within live group settings.''
President of Calibrus, Greg Holmes said, "With advertising agencies embracing the advances in mobile Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) units, the platform has a scalable revenue potential and broad appeal."
