Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City Celebrates Earth Day with 2011 "Go Green" Initiative
Eco-Friendly Menu Options and Promotions Effective at Caesars, Harrah's Resort, Showboat and Bally's Throughout the Month of April
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., April 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In honor of Earth Day, Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City is proud to introduce their 2011 "Go Green" Initiative featuring a variety of eco-friendly modifications and promotions at Caesars, Harrah's Resort, Showboat and Bally's. Starting this month, these efforts will range from organic food and beverage specials to eco-friendly sweepstakes and promotions.
Throughout April, all four casinos and resorts will feature Go Green menu items and drink specials at several eateries including buffets and gourmet restaurants, integrating organically grown fruits, vegetables and meats. The April Go Green initiative culminates with an April 30th Smart Car giveaway to Total Rewards customers. The drawing will be held at all Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City locations, as well as Harrah's Chester.
"We are very proud supporters of the Go Green initiative and are committed to raising awareness of the importance of eco-friendly practices and fundraising throughout our resorts and casinos," said Michelle Messina, Vice President of Public Relations for Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City.
For those who prefer a more hands on approach to sustainable cuisine, the Viking Cooking School at Harrah's Resort offers two exceptional classes for the eco-minded foodie with "Farm-to-Table" seasonal cooking courses taking place on April 13th and April 20th. Each class allows guests to create dishes such as a Farm-Fresh Rustic Vegetable Tart, Market Salad with Applewood-Smoked Bacon and Homemade Fruit-of-the-Season Ice Cream. This hands-on course will last for three hours and is priced at $89. Tickets for all Viking classes can be purchased at www.harrahsresort.com/casinos/harrahs-atlantic-city/casino-misc/viking-cooking-school-detail.html
Go Green initiatives will also be showcased in Caesars Entertainment's gaming offerings. A Go Green Play & Earn Promotion, grants guests $10 in Free Slot Play for every 250 Green Points (Base Reward Credits) earned. On Earth Day weekend, guests will have the chance to participate in a "Win. Play. Grow. Sweepstakes" where they can win their share of $50,000 in Free Slot Play. Guests will be giving the chance to choose a leaf made from seeded paper, on which a dollar amount will be printed. After claiming their prize, guests are encouraged to keep the leaf to plant.
Caesars Entertainment will be giving back to local Green organizations such as The Tenafly Nature Center and Highlands, New Jersey's Clean Ocean Action. Last year's Go Green initiative resulted in a donation to the Pinelands Preservation Alliance, another of this year's featured organizations.
In an additional effort in sustainability, eco-friendly features will be visible throughout all four casinos and resorts, including biodegradable straws and recyclable napkins and take-out containers.
