Cabi Honors International Women's Day With W.E. are cabi Social Giving Campaign
Cabi's Signature Global Philanthropic Initiative Celebrates One Year Anniversary
LOS ANGELES, March 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading social selling apparel business cabi is celebrating the one year anniversary of W.E. are cabi (Women Entrepreneurs are cabi) by launching a new social giving campaign to honor International Women's Day. The campaign encourages individuals to share on social media ways in which they celebrate female achievements and strive for gender equality using the hashtags #PledgeForParity and #WeAreCabi. For every tweet and/or Instagram post in the month of March that includes both hashtags together, cabi will donate $1 towards the W.E. are cabi program. Inspired by the global day to celebrate women's achievements while providing equal opportunity for women globally, the W.E. are cabi social giving campaign highlights the company's continued commitment to supporting female entrepreneurs in the developing world.
Launched last February in partnership with Opportunity International, W.E. are cabi is the first of its kind one-for-one micro-lending program that funds small business loans for female entrepreneurs in developing countries, in the name of every new woman who decides to start her business with cabi. By providing the financing and mentorship, W.E. are cabi is projected to create and support approximately 8,200 jobs, impacting over 35,000 people in developing nations by 2020.
"We launched W.E. are cabi because we are committed to empowering and supporting female entrepreneurs around the world," said Lynne Coté, Chief Executive Officer of cabi. "Through our W.E. are cabi social giving campaign, we are not only able to directly engage our followers to raise additional funds for the program, but also shine a light on International Women's Day, an incredible global recognition of women and their amazing achievements."
"Determined to incite global change, the W.E. are cabi initiative is intended to not only transform the lives of female entrepreneurs in the developing world, but their families, communities and countries," said Kimberly Inskeep, Founder, President and Chief Culture Officer of cabi. "We are excited to join the conversation around International Women's Day with this social giving campaign and increase our impact across the world because when women provide opportunity for women, the whole world can elevate. "
The W.E. are cabi program builds on an existing partnership established in 2008 between cabi and Opportunity International, which also launched cabi's "Make A Change" program. The "Make a Change" program allows customers to round their order amount to the nearest dollar and donate the change. To date, through "Make a Change" and W.E. are cabi, cabi has raised more than $1 million for Opportunity International and given more than 6,100 small business loans to female entrepreneurs worldwide. Cabi's goal is to contribute more than $4 million in total giving by 2020.
