BVAccel Expands eCommerce Service Offering With Acquisition of WebLinc's Internal Commerce Agency
This is the second acquisition by BVAccel, an August Spark company, as it seeks to provide an end-to-end commerce solution to direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands.
SAN DIEGO, April 10 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- BVAccel, an August Spark company, has entered into an agreement to acquire the internal commerce agency of WebLinc Corp as they seek to expand and strengthen their eCommerce service offering. Workarea Commerce Platform, the product of WebLinc Corp, will continue to operate as an independent business within WebLinc, accelerating innovation on the SaaS platform for enterprise merchants doing B2C and B2B digital commerce.
"This is the second transaction with more to come in our mission to become the first call for direct to consumer brands as they think through their digital, physical retail, and channel initiatives," said Michael Cassidy, CEO of BVAccel. "The addition of WebLinc's internal commerce agency strengthens our technical capabilities, better equips us to serve existing and prospective clients, and makes BVAccel the leading Workarea partner."
Through this transaction, BVAccel gains an East Coast presence in Philadelphia to complement their existing offices in San Diego, CA and Columbus, OH. BVAccel will support merchants running on the Workarea Commerce Platform, while also continuing their focus and commitment to being one of the first, biggest, and most experienced Shopify Plus agency partners.
"This transaction represents the final chapter in our plan to be 100% focused on building the world's leading enterprise commerce software," said Darren Hill, CEO and Co-Founder of WebLinc Corp, the company behind Workarea. "We built Workarea because we saw a gap in the market and our partners, including BVAccel, share our thesis around the need for a truly flexible enterprise platform that delights shoppers, merchants and technology teams. We are committed to our growing network of Workarea customers and agency partners."
The Workarea team will continue to innovate on the platform, uniquely built on a foundation of best-in-class content management, search, and merchant insights. Partners and customers will be converging on Philadelphia April 10th and 11th for the company's annual Workarea Summit, where new product innovations will be announced.
